Burnaby Hospice Society Volunteers provide emotional and practical support to individuals with a life threatening illness, in the home, in hospital and in hospice.
Volunteers receive comprehensive training and on-going education and supervision. They are skilled listeners who are sensitive, compassionate and respectful of confidentiality and cultural background.
Volunteers enhance the home-like atmosphere of St. Michael’s Centre Hospice, offering coffee and tea service, companionship to the patient, and family support.
