Another year of activity and accomplishment has gone by for the Foundation. Over $150,000 of equipment, programming and other needed items were purchased and funded to improve and enrich the lives of our residents and patients. The entire music program has been financed for the second year and the entertainment budget doubled in order that our residents and patients can continue to experience the enjoyment that come with such pleasures. As well, those Sunday Services not already having music support are now receiving such thanks to the Foundation.
Among the many special projects was the redesign of our front entrance both outside and inside, to create a more aesthetic setting with grouped conversational areas for our residents and their families. A number of new upholstered armchairs have been purchased, again enabling our residents and their families to enjoy their visitation in a more comfortable manner. A table and two benches were added to our third therapeutic garden, the Chapel Garden, thus providing even more seating for interaction or viewing and our greenhouse was repaired to allow our residents to enjoy the hands-on gardening programs that take place. Also, further enhancements to our pond with the donation of some large koi and goldfish have proven to be a drawing point that has generated much delight and pleasure.
Soon our next Major Donors Evening and our seventh annual mail out appeal will be happening and in advance, I would like to thank the many individuals, families and groups, who continue to give towards the support of the Centre and enable us to purchase much needed equipment and to fund programs that enrich the lives of our residents and patients.
We continue to explore ways to increase our fundraising efforts in order to benefit St. Michael’s Centre. On behalf of the Foundation Board I thank each of you for the interest, support and financial gifts that you have donated to assist us in the care of all our residents and patients.
Yours truly,
Marti Tutti
